What are Plantation Shutters?

Plantation Shutters can be made from a number of materials, Wood, PVC, MDF for example and available in a number of colours.

They are a series of interconnected louvred doors hung on a frame. These frames can be fitted inside or outside the window recess and are not fitted onto the window itself.

All louvres open and close through 180 degrees, doors can be folded back to assist with window cleaning.

There are a number of door combinations for larger windows and this is assessed upon site survey with the customers.

Lourve sizes are available in 47mm, 63mm, 76mm, and 89mm slats.

Shutter Blinds are now back in fashion

Benefits are looks, easy cleaning and help reduce heat loss and outside noise.

Keep rooms cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

No need for curtains, poles etc, saving money

It should be noted that shutters are NOT a Blackout solution as there is a small amount of light seepage though they do keep most of the light out.

Generally speaking the larger the Louvre size the more light will be blocked as there will be less louvres.

Plantation Shutters are and investment in your home making your room seem bigger and brighter and as such are much desired. This could be a helpful selling point should you decide to move at a later date.
